How to Get into a Hammock

First, turn your back towards the hammock and posture your body to take the sitting position. (Make sure you do not have any sharp objects in your pocket and that the lines are securely fasten to prevent any accidents)

Second, take the the far edge of the hammock with on hand.

Third, grab the nearest edge of the hammock with your other hand and lean into the hammock.

Fourth, as you successfully get into the hammock, rotate your body to bring your legs inside.

Fifth, adjust your body using the space within the hammock to get the optimal amount of comfort. This is a trial-by-error step. Everyone has their own level of comfort so figure out what makes you comfortable in your hammock! The most typical position is the diagonal position where your head is on the left side while your feet is on the right side. For more information about this check out how to lie in a hammock.

LPT (LIFE PRO TIP): NEVER EVER STAND ON A HAMMOCK! YOU CAN GET SPINAL INJURIES! THOSE WHO OFTEN DO ARE CHILDREN! PLEASE SUPERVISE KIDS IN AND AROUND A HAMMOCK AT ALL TIMES!

Exiting a hammock?

To exit: all you have to do isĀ  swing your legs over the side at the same or one by one (to prevent flipping) while holding the edges of the hammock. As you do this, make sure you keep your butt center as you assume the sitting position. Once you are in the sitting position, reach the ground with each feet.

Remember, injuries can happen so if you decide to go camping with hammock, practice at home first. Keep practicing until you feel like a pro with a relaxing hammock!
